Dear Kate Atkinson,
I recently finished your wonderful book, "Started Early, Took My Dog," the fourth in your series with Jackson Brodie. This was as good as the others, and worth ordering from Amazon UK since it's not yet out stateside. I'm impatient for Jackson and for your writing. I love when you describe a particularly unsavory character as a "berserker," who later "meerkatted to attention." Such descriptions are such fun.
Your main character, former private detective Jackson Brodie, is irresistible to me as well and would be such fun. Tell Louise already. My friend Heather loves your books, too, and has skillfully cast Gerard Butler as Jackson in any movie version. We have debated this more than we'd like to admit. He can't be too pretty, he can't be too young. What do you think? Does Gerard work? (Enoy the photo, at least:)
With much admiration and thanks!
One of your many reader fans

I'm halfway through the book and love it! I'm taking my time because I don't want it to end.
I'm still hoping for Hugh Laurie as Jackson :-)
